Rivian Forums Owners Club - R1T Pickup and R1S SUV Forum

The Rivian Owners Forums are now back online! The forums were offline for awhile as can be seen by the legacy threads and member communications, but hopefully we can begin growing again and be a great outlet for all current and future Rivian owners without being force fed ads all in your face as other forums out there do.

    Towing Features

I'm sure Rivian can though I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a response in this or any other forum as I've yet to read any post from someone claiming to be from Rivian. (I suspect they monitor some of the forums but in read-only mode.) I'd suggest sending them an email though I've read...

    Electrical charging connections at home.

Only time/place I heard of Rivian EAVs having two ports (front driver and front passenger sides) was the recent spy reports from the testing they are currently doing in Tierra del Fuego, South America. However, since then Rivian has recently stated (on Twitter and in an email) to not read...

    Delivery Van - Camper Conversion

Well, Rivian has mentioned they will come out with 6 vehicles by 2025. Perhaps a Rivian RV will be among them.

Rivian hitting the road again - announces some Fall 2019 / Winter 2020 destinations

Rivian might not be at the actual EV Week event but they might do something like they did during the NY Auto Show and hold a private event. (?)

    Hello from MI

Welcome! Yep, I can relate ... well, except for the hunting. :)

Rivian hitting the road again - announces some Fall 2019 / Winter 2020 destinations

Doh! My email provider/server was down so I had no idea about the email invite. Thanks @RockDaphne98296 ! Which of the two sessions are you attending? OP has been updated with Seattle event date and times.

    Electrical charging connections at home.

You're reasoning implies the other EV has it's charging port on the driver side. I don't see this as an issue with public charging stations as most have two charging cables that are long enough to reach the far corner of a vehicle. Personally I would rather have it on the drive side. More...

Insurance premiums for a Rivian ... or any EV for that matter

With the plethora of articles covering the announcement today of Tesla "promising owners of its electric vehicles to deliver rates 20% and even as high as 30% lower than other insurance providers," I thought it would be helpful to have a thread dedicated to this topic, that is, how the insurance...

Rivian hitting the road again - announces some Fall 2019 / Winter 2020 destinations

OP has been updated with the following: Rivian has announced via email (invite) their Atlanta private event will be September 13, 2019, 6-9pm ET. In case you were wondering, this will be like previous events where "touching and sitting inside the vehicles is prohibited." Rivian email goes...

Rivian hitting the road again - announces some Fall 2019 / Winter 2020 destinations

For those who have not pre-ordered or have not signed up to receive email updates from Rivian, Rivian sent out the following update via email stating some destinations they will be visiting this fall. From the email: In case the above image doesn't appear in your browser, the cities are...

Rivian R1T and R1S will offer four roof options

I wouldn't hold your breath on that. This year Rivian was a no show at two of the biggest auto shows - Detroit and Chicago. And according to the website for the Chicago Auto Show, which has been updated for 2020, Rivian is NOT listed. However, Rivian did just announce in an email today...

    Servicing?

@Alexisenquirers, welcome to the forum! Recommend checking out the YT video below from the TFLnow channel. They conducted separate interviews with RJ and Charles Sanderson, VP of Vehicle Integration and Development, during the private event recently held in Denver, CO. Of the topics...

    Charging Network Concerns

As PoorPilot mentioned there are a lot of unknowns. The charging station front is like the wild, wild west right now with very little predictability especially when we look out over a year from now and even more so on how a Rivian EAV will factor in. I've read posts from Tesla owners stating...

    Colors and options?

Unfortunately nothing specific yet other than some time later this year. Rivian has stated we should be able to "configure" our vehicle order later this year so I would expect the configurator to include exterior/interior color options. Personally, I don't know if that will be enough for me...

    CarPlay

Can't help but wonder how much Google support apps/services will be available in a Rivian EAV seeing that Amazon has invested $700m in Rivian.

    Amateur Radio

Beyond my experience. About all I can add is that the R1S will have a glass roof. Not known yet if this will be optional and/or they will be providing other roof configurations. I would highly encourage you to submit your question(s)/request(s) directly to Rivian. I'm sure they would value...

    Electrical charging connections at home.

Rivian EAVs, like any other plug-in EVs, require no more than a 110v service outlet, which is referred to as level 1 charging. For faster charging rates you could purchase and install a level 2 charger to take advantage of the 240v service already in your garage. Rivian claims both EAVs will...

    Amateur Radio

I don't know much about "amateur radios" other than back in the late '70s I had a base station CB radio in the house and another mobile CB radio in my car, so please excuse any ignorance in my post. The only requirements from my car to use the CB radio was a power source connection...
