I am considering pre-ordering of an R1S which I like the most because that is apt for me. However given the fact that current battery technology is still Lithium-ion batteries, I am hoping there are research happening across the world for longer and more efficient batteries along with faster recharge. In this regard does Rivian provide the option to switch to new battery technology (if one comes out) without having to spend too much or reselling my vehicle?
