Look at the photos of the R1T, where is the trailer hitch? Is it integral or is it expected to be an add-on?
 
I haven't seen anything concrete, but maybe it's something like the Model X? It's detachable via a keyed lock. It's not the simplest thing to take in or out, but it's not impossible.
