Rivian Forums Owners Club - R1T Pickup and R1S SUV Forum

The Rivian Owners Forums are now back online! The forums were offline for awhile as can be seen by the legacy threads and member communications, but hopefully we can begin growing again and be a great outlet for all current and future Rivian owners without being force fed ads all in your face as other forums out there do.

    Greetings from Wyoming

Although revenue to repair and improve roads is needed, the burden should be on the heavy trucking industry that causes the most degradation of the highway system. Several states are already adding additional fees for EVs to try to offset loss of gas tax funds. In my opinion we should be...

Rivian Has Been Secretly Testing Its Electric Trucks Disguised as Ford F-150s

So does Rivian have some agreement with Ford? I would think that would be an issue for them to continue using their badge and markings with a different brands platform.

Will Tesla Pickup Beat Ford and Rivian?

Good short video comparing Tesla, Rivian, & Ford. He did forget to mention some other advantages Tesla has such as their giga factories and tons of data they have at their disposal from all these years of customers driving Teslas.

Sometime in 2008 with the Roadster. Was only a handful of them. Model S came out in 2012.

    Hi from Omaha

Welcome all. Glad to see more faces. Love the idea of a group visit at the factory watching the vehicles (maybe ours) getting assembled.

Will Rivian's success be in simply selling the "skateboard" platform?

Amazon is not stupid (obviously) and everything they do now is only for their future interests. They will definitely use Rivian's technology on their delivery fleets wether it be that skateboard platform or an upcoming vehicle in the pipe line. Who knows, Rivian could be developing an electric...

Sub 90k version on the long range battery

Hmm I had no idea the 135kWh option was their performance line? I totally must of missed that. But doing the calculation on the others, the 105 comes out slightly worse and the 180 the same as the 135.

Rivian Says Its 400-Mile Models Will Cost Less Than $90,000

Comparing to today, that's pretty darn good. Model X right now will cost you about $96k for the base model and will get you 295 mile range. I wouldn't compare Rivian's pricing to Tesla's Performance model like this article. And if Rivian can grasp on the government incentives... Would be in...

    Stock

Would be a while I am sure. If we follow Tesla's path, Tesla started in 2003 and went IPO in 2010. If you bought Tesla during the IPO you would have got in at about $17 a share. Could have made some nice gains today. ;) Would love to buy up some Rivian myself, maybe they get to IPO faster.

Sub 90k version on the long range battery

Anyone concerned that it seems Rivian's batteries are not as efficient as Teslas? A Model X 100D range is 295 miles (2.95 miles per kWh), while Rivian's R1S 135kwh battery gives 310+ miles ( we don't know how much the + adds but can't be much more so let's say 340 miles) coming in at 2.29 -...

Rivian patent reveals R1T auxiliary battery that pushes range beyond 400 miles

Yes Rivian will have 4 motors. As described on their website: The Rivian electric drive delivers remarkable power and torque through four independent motors — with 200 horsepower available at each wheel. The patent drawing I think is just outlining where the components on the truck is located...
